Online Preschool Classes
The first five years of a child’s life is the most critical time for their development. In the first five years children learn language, begin to read, and set a foundation for all of their future learning at school. It is important to build resilience and foster positive life long habits at an early age. Access to good quality preschool can be expensive and with Covid 19 policies, even harder to find than usual. Online classes allow young children access to a preschool like environment without having to leave the home.
Preschoolers behave better when their mind is kept busy. When preschoolers do not get enough mental stimulation they look for it elsewhere by exploring and inventing games. Without adult supervision this often means exploring and playing with items they should not be touching (aka getting into trouble) or demanding adult attention.
Make sure that you set a schedule for your preschooler to promote learning and free play. Preschoolers should not spend all day online, and should not be expected to focus for more than 15- 20 minutes. Preschoolers are expected fiddle and move during online classes. It is normal for them to leave class and come back a few times. Even if they do not participate they will learn a lot by watching others. Ask your online preschool teacher if it is possible to review a video recording of class. Preschoolers love to repeat the same lesson over and over and will get more out of it each time! It is also a great idea to repeat a class that your preschooler has enjoyed again.
